Revit 2015 Update Release 8 and New Project

When I click New under the Projects (or Family) list on the Recent Files page Revit is opening a new strange page instead of opening the New Project dialog.

That's a bit ridiculous...

If I rely on the Application Menu > New (Project/Family) the normal dialog appears. So for now avoid relying on the Recent Files page...

Steve,

The Recent Files page works fine for me. Is this a screen resolution issue? The page you're seeing is what I'd expect to find if I clicked down in the bottom left corner (near "Autodesk Revit").

Thanks,
Aaron

Looking more closely, all the recent files shortcuts in 2015 AND 2016 are assigned to http://www.autodesk.com/revit-enu now... regardless of what are actually assigned to them in Options > File Locations.

My paths are not to stock locations so maybe that has something to do with it?

Forwarded to Revit QA, just in case...

Due to undesirable behaviors, we have excluded the recent files page in our deployments. As an example, when one of our users used the recent files page to open a model, he was thrown right into the central model...perfect :/

Response from QA:

"Based on Steve’s comment that all recent file shortcuts are now pointing to http://www.autodesk.com/revit-enu, it definitely sounds like a Revit.ini problem. I would start by checking the user’s and UserDataCache copies of the Revit.ini file. If the UserDataCache copy of Revit.ini is still valid, I would delete the user’s copy and let it be recreated the next time they launch Revit.

By the way, I was unable to reproduce this problem so it appears to be a user specific issue."

...and this morning both 2015 and 2016 are working properly again. I was pretty sure I restarted the computer after installing the updates, normally do but now I'm not so sure. Thanks for pursuing it with support on my behalf, and for following up!
